Spokane to Krabi

Well yipee kai yay motherfootball. As of yesterday, myself and around 200 equally excited airline passengers have achieved the miracle of time travel! To be honest, I’m probably a lot more excited to be back in Thailand… and not on a plane.

A short how to on doing time travel, my way.

First things first, you have to decide which way you want to go. For the sake of the blog, let’s say were going forwards. Begin in a city on the West Coast (Los Angeles). Now you’ll need a flight over the Pacific Ocean; a good long one. Let’s say 14 hours. In a middle seat. The people who got hammered before stepping on are looking smarter and smarter, huh?

Snapshot of hour seven.

Takeoff time doesn’t really matter, but let’s just say around 12:30am. Fourteen hours later, if you happen to land at Taoyuan International Airport in Taiwan, grab yourself a beverage:

Cards and American Currency are welcome!

From here, you’re sure to find a suitable ride to Bangkok.

Personally, I’d recommend on of these handy chutes

Three hours of watching the Marvelous Mrs. Maisle later, we say goodbye to China Airlines. If you experienced mild food poisoning about an hour after leaving L.A., it was probably your fault for ordering the seafood pasta, so give them a big thank you! You are now in Thailand, and what’s more, after 18 hours of travel, you’ve traveled an additional 15 hours into the future!

Shall I Drop the Second-Person?

Does anyone mind if I drop the second-person speaking now? Thanks. It was useful for the horrifically boring part, but now it’s just clumsy!

So yeah. After goodbyes to the family, a fourteen hour layover in L.A., a fourteen hour flight to Taipei (complete with tainted seafood pasta), China Airlines dropped me off in Bangkok around two days ago. Soon after that, I caught my final flight to Krabi. Quick Tip: If you’re flying into Thailand. Book your ticket to the capital, then book a seperate ticket to wherever you’re going. It’s usually the same plane, but like $200 cheaper.

After relearning Suvarnabhumi Intl. Airport (it goes: immigration, baggage claim, customs, and the escalators to the right), I caught my final flight to Krabi. From the airport, I needed to get to my place in Ao Nang. No worries. The shuttle bus is fast, clean, and only 150 Thai Baht ($4).

Thank you, Krabi Forest Homestay

Got to my place around 10:30pm and sometime around 11:59pm, Sept. 30, I started my recharging faze.
