Okay, You Got Me!

Who me?

I spent two weeks on the lonely island of Koh Sukorn in southern Thailand. Showering with a bucket. Eating snails, bamboo, and fish curry. And being generally mobbed by the village children. And I did not blog.

A motorbike with me holding on for dear life, may or may not have discovered the best pho in Hanoi. Slogged through mudbogs in sunset light to sleep on an uninhabited beach on Vietnam’s eastern coast. And rode all the way into Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) entirely uncrashed. I didn’t crash. I didn’t crash and if you tell my mom, I’ll send you to a deep dark place. I did not blog.

I watched a four year-old Thai kid calling people out and flipping them the bird from the window of a third class train rolling into Lop Buri, Thailand. I didn’t blog.

But I can change!

Now it’s time for some damage control. Let’s say two posts per week. One current and one drawn from the pages of my meticulously kept journal. (See? I do have some redeeming qualities.)

Oh. One last thing before I catch my plane out of Singapore. I wrote a book.

Basically, what we’ve got here, is a collection of 16 short stories spanning my time in Alaska, Asia, and beyond. Plus some really good food, just for fun. In my continuing quest to hone my skill as a writer, it has been terrifying, but necessary. If it will bring you joy, check out the links I’ve thrown down below.
